Energy options for municipalities

Lower energy costs provide options for local governments

Energy issues are a critical concern for municipal governments that operate electric systems.  Other issues, like reducing emissions and ensuring that future energy supplies can reliably meet projected growth, are factors that these cities and towns need to solve.  Conservation measures are an admirable first step, but they only address part of the problem.  In a climate of rising energy costs and declining tax bases, the economic relief is short lived.

Tangent enables municpalities to pay less for energy

At no capital cost, Tangent provides municipalities with generation resources like solar arrays or clean, gas-fired generators that replace a portion of the energy purchased at market prices.  Municipalities purchase the energy from these assets through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) at a rate that remains fixed for up to 20 years.

Plus, Tangent takes the additional step of providing energy efficiency technologies that intelligently and imperceptibly reduce usage in a way that qualifies customers for lower energy prices.

By managing both supply and demand, Tangent saves its customers 10% to 20% on their total energy bills.  And, by adding clean, on-site generation resources to public buildings and properties, Tangent’s municipality customers also lower emissions and reduce the need for new energy infrastructure.
