Steven D’Angelo
Managing Director
Steve has more than 25 years of professional experience in electrical metering, integration, and control systems. Prior to the acquisition by Caterpillar, Inc., Steve was Chief Technology Officer of Tangent Energy Solutions, Inc.
In his current role, Steve is responsible for managing the all technology at Tangent Energy Solutions, including the design, development, and support of their flagship Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS), Tangent® AMP. Steve is also responsible for the Network Operations Center and Integration and Engineering teams.
Before Tangent Energy Solutions, Steve worked for Comverge (formerly Enerwise Global Technologies) for ten years. There he managed a 24×7 Network Operations Center and led a metering and controls integration team serving commercial and industrial customers. Primary responsibilities included administering large utility demand response programs and monitoring and dispatching assets.
Tom Hammond
Energy Technology Engineering Manager
Tom is an energy technology engineering manager with expertise in the dispatch and monitoring of generation assets throughout various U.S. energy markets (ISOs/RTOs).
At Tangent Energy Solutions, Tom has been integral in the design and implementation of all metering, communications and control architecture associated with the remote dispatch of assets via Tangent AMP. His responsibilities include communications design, coordinating installations, and overseeing final system commissioning and testing.
Tom was also instrumental in developing and expanding the Network Operations Center (NOC) at Tangent Energy Solutions and plays a key role integrating the monitoring and control systems for all assets under management.
Tom has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
Stephen Musser
Engineering Manager
Stephen has over 10 years of experience in the energy industry. In his current role at Tangent Energy Solutions, Stephen oversees technical sales support and project execution throughout North America, focusing on project engineering for distributed energy resource (DER) systems. This includes initial project development and project execution with customers, municipals, utilities, and project investors.
Prior to the acquisition of Tangent Energy Solutions by Caterpillar, Inc., Stephen was a project engineer for natural gas generation and energy storage projects. He was also the technical sales lead for large accounts in Ontario and New England.
Stephen graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Mark Schaefer
Vice President of Finance
Mark Schaefer is a risk management and financial expert with a long career of providing financial analysis and due diligence assessments for energy businesses.
In his current role, Mark oversees all project financings transactions, including but not limited to power purchase agreement negotiations, contract negotiations, and deal structure analysis. In this capacity Mark has overseen Tangent Energy Solutions' growth as one of the most respected Energy as a Service project developers in North America.
Prior to joining Tangent Energy Solutions, Mark was Vice President of Risk Management for Comverge, a leading demand response, advanced metering and grid management solutions company. Mark performed the due diligence for Comverge's fully outsourced pay-for-performance programs with several utilities and the ISO New England, and numerous Power Purchase Agreements with customers.
Claire Gramlich
Operations Center Manager
Claire has been in the energy industry for more than 12 years and currently manages Tangent AMP's 24/7 Network Operations Center, which monitors more than 6,600 MWs of customer load, including over 175MW of installed distributed energy resources. Her key responsibilities include leading the Operations Center, which includes DER asset management and asset dispatch, as well as the regulatory and account management teams. She is also integral in steering design, development, and support of the Tangent AMP system.
Claire has expertise in energy markets, fleet management, and customer and investor support. Prior to Tangent AMP, Claire worked for PJM Interconnection within their EIS group.
